We had been looking forward to this day for a while! A huge all day music festival on the main Toronto Island in Lake Ontario featuring Wolfmother, Sam Roberts Band, The Strokes, The Raconteurs and Broken Social Scene to just name a few – these were also the best bands of the day! The day started at 12pm but we did not make it there until about 2:30pm as we had some drinking to do at home first – you can’t go to a music festival sober!!!! So we drank some Vodka and then we were on our way :o)
The ferry cost was included in the ticket price so that was good and the ferry ride was about 15 minutes – this was out first trip to the islands. The island are very nice - they are more like recreational parks with walking tracks, biking tracks, large grass areas, beach including a nudist one :o)

The Aussie’s were up first and Wolfmother did not disappoint they were awesome with there blend of Black Sabbath meets Gun’s n Roses. We had only recently heard of them, but there popularity is on the rise. We were right up close to the main stage jumping around with all the other fans. After they finished we went on a walk and found some hospitable Canadians who offered some herbal relief. Next up was Sam Roberts who is a Canadian – his set rocked the house in his more conventional style of music – was really cool to see him live.

After Sam Roberts probably the best band of the day came on The Strokes and we were about 15 rows of people back from the stage and we were amping and getting right into it. By now we were quite drunk as we had snuck in a hippie of vodka and had been sipping away at that all day. The last band we stayed to watch was Jack White and The Raconteurs and they were impressive I don’t know if I liked them as much as The White Stripes but it they were still good!

Great Day, Great Music, Great Fun, Bring on Reading and Glastonbury!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
